// Zalando to close zLabels private business on April 1
// The online fashion retailer has decided to pursue a complementary strategy with partner brands
// The initiative entails a review of 11 private label brands at a later date
Zalando is due to close its private label business zLabels on April 1 after deciding to seek a curated exchange with its partner brands.
The online fashion retailer said a “significant number” of the 550 zLabels employees will be transferred to the Zalando Fashion Store business.
The initiative entails a review of 11 private label brands at a later date.
Meanwhile, the footwear and accessories ranges will include an “everyday essentials” apparel offering.
“This approach will allow us to work together under one roof, with a strategic direction for our own assortment which will be more complementary to our partner brands,” Zalando co-chief executive David Schneider said.
