Joe Browns is chosen McArthurGlen Designer Outlet York as the location of its second bricks-and-mortar store.
The new 1500sq ft store will open at the start of July and comes on the back of record sales for the online fashion retailer and after a successful first year for its flagship store, which opened in Sheffield’s Meadowhall Shopping Centre in November 2017.
Joe Browns said it was expecting similar levels of success at the new outlet store.

“This is the next phase for us in exploring retail and means more people will be able to access remarkable garments at great prices,” managing director and founder Simon Brown said.
“Our Meadowhall store captures and really brings to life the essence of our fun and liberating brand, so we’re really looking forward to replicating this and delivering a true point of difference to the McArthurGlen Designer Outlet York.”
Joe Browns said that despite a challenging retail market, direct sales since the start of the financial year in July 2018 have risen by 17 per cent year-on-year.
The retailer, which started life as a mail order retailer, added that its first bricks-and-mortar store in Sheffield reported gross sales of over £3.3 million since it opened.
“The continued success of the business allows us to continue investing in new customer recruitment and we see our second retail store very much a part of this strategy,” Joe Browns finance director Darren Abbott said.
The new McArthurGlen Designer Outlet York store, which will be situated on the South Mall of the centre, will stock discounted men’s and womenswear collections and a selection of accessories.
