Moonpig hires ex-WHSmith CEO Kate Swann as chair

Moonpig has appointed the former WHSmith chief executive as its new chairwoman.

Kate Swann is to join online greetings card specialist as its sales hit £100 million, after having turned WHSmith around during her tenure, Sky News first reported.

Most recently, she was chief executive of transport food specialist SSP, a role which she joined in 2013.

“I am delighted to be joining Nickyl Raithatha, Moonpig chief executive and the Moonpig team and look forward to working with them to build on the many opportunities the business has,” Swann told Sky News.

Raithatha said: “The appointment brings a wealth of experience in leading successful businesses and a fantastic addition to our new leadership team”.

Before her Moonpig appointment, Swann was eyed by DIY giant Kingfisher and John Lewis Partnership for the potential roles of chief executive and chairwoman respectively.
