The Perfume Shop has opened its first experiential concept store within Meadowhall shopping centre, Sheffield.

The new concept store showcases interactive areas such as a central play table for perfume self-discovery, with an interactive perfume wheel with scented sensors so customers can touch and feel, rather than just smell.

A range of scented funnels with iPads is also on offer to help customers find suitable fragrances.

The store also has a personalisation area where customers can decorate their purchases with diamantes, initials, gems, ribbons, pearls, bows and charms.

In addition, a personalisation service will engrave bottles with names or messages for a small charge and the store will also launch some new gift wrapping ideas.

Designed by an internal team at The Perfume Shop, the concept store features an Instagrammable chandelier made of reused perfume bottles.

The chandelier also highlights the retailer’s Bottle Recycling service, which allows customers to bring in any old perfume bottle for specialist recycling in return for a 10 per cent discount on perfumes bought on the day.

“We’re so excited to launch our first ever concept store with sensory experiences to help customers discover a new way of choosing perfume,” The Perfume Shop managing director Gill Smith said.

“The store experience encourages customers to browse perfume in a new, innovative, interactive way putting our expert’s knowledge at the forefront, with technology and fun at the core of the sensual experience.

“We can’t wait to welcome our loyal and new customers and help them to reminisce and evoke their love of perfume.”
