Premium footwear brand Velasca has opened its first ever UK store in Marylebone, London.

Located along Chiltern Street, Velasca is the latest in a line of premium fashion brands that have recently opened UK flagship stores in the precinct, which is operated by the Portman Estate.

The boutique will stock Velasca’s full collection of accessories and classic lines of shoes,  which are handmade in the Marche region of Italy – an area renowned for its shoemaking legacy.

“With its community of one-off concepts and like-minded brands that champion quality craftsmanship, Marylebone’s Chiltern Street is a great fit for Velasca,” co-founder Jacopo Sebastio said.

“In the heart of one of the world’s style capitals, and with an abundance of local hotels and attractions bringing visitors from around the world, as well as a strong local community of residents and workers, this was the obvious choice for our UK flagship store – or as we call it ‘bottega’.”

Other premium fashion brands that have opened up along Chiltern Street in recent years includes Casely-Hayford, Dashing Tweeds and Instagram-famous footwear brand Sabah.

These sit alongside cult British brands, including Sunspel, English Cut, Hamilton & Hare, Grey Flannel, and John Simons – the first retailer to bring Ivy League style to the UK.

“The signing of Velasca to Chiltern Street is testament to the street’s continued appeal to quality, independent and international retailers,” The Portman Estate commercial asset director Philip Norris said.

“Chiltern Street has established itself as a specialist shopping destination with a slow-fashion mindset. Velasca perfectly aligns with this ethos. W

“e’ve no doubt the brand’s international, style-conscious customer-base will enjoy discovering Chiltern Street’s complementary mix of fashion and lifestyle brands.”
