Sainsbury’s hires new online boss for Tu clothing

// Jessica Brown appointed head of ecommerce for Sainsbury’s Tu clothing label
// She will be joining from Amazon, where she has spent nine years

Sainsbury’s has reportedly hired Jessica Brown as the head of ecommerce for its Tu clothing label.

Brown will be making the move from Amazon, where she has spent nine years, joining as head of fashion in 2011 before working her way up to principal product manager for Alexa since January 2018.

She also starts at Tu after the Big 4 grocer’s clothing label enjoyed a boost over the Christmas trading season, when sales rose 4.4 per cent year-on-year.

Brown’s appointment also comes after Mike Coupe announced his resignation as Sainsbury’s group chief executive last month.

He will remain in the post until the end of May – after which he will be replaced by current retail and operations director, Simon Roberts, from June 1.

Coupe’s resignation came shortly after after Sainsbury’s announced hundreds of job cuts in head office roles.

The head of Sainsbury’s Bank, Roger Davis, also recently announced he will be stepping down.
