The Very Group hires chief data officer

The Very Group has hired Steve Pimblett to take on the role of chief data officer.

Pimblett joins the online retailer from from Wejo, a UK scale-up behind technology used in connected cars.

Most recently, he held the dual role of chief data officer and chief information officer at the firm, which has tie-ups with General Motors, Daimler and Hyundai.

Before Wejo, he was chief data officer at Betsson Group, a Nasdaq-listed online gaming company, and general manager of data at Moneysupermarket.com.

At The Very Group, Pimblett will report to chief technology officer Andy Burton and will oversee all things data, including strategy, science, analytics and engineering.
