Aldi is teaming up with national lottery operator Camelot to bring The National Lottery to all of Aldi’s 900 UK stores for the first time.
From next month, Aldi will be rolling out the National Lottery’s full raft of draw-based games at its checkouts so customers can conveniently pick up their tickets when doing their food shop.
Lucky Dip tickets for Lotto, EuroMillions, Lotto HotPicks, EuroMillions HotPicks, Set For Life and Thunderball games will be available at the Aldi checkouts.
- Aldi to fund 60 produce industry apprenticeships
- Aldi to invest £22m as part of continued London expansion
- Aldi named the UK’s top in-store grocer
The UK launch follows a successful trial in the north of England.
All Aldi supermarkets in the UK will sell The National Lottery at checkouts by the end of June.
“Customers will now be able to enter The National Lottery while doing their weekly Aldi shop,” Aldi UK communications director Richard Thornton said.
“We hope to hand out some winning numbers to lucky customers across the country.”
The National Lottery generates more than £30 million, on average, each week and goes towards charities and good causes like food banks and repairing local Scout huts, through providing funding for Olympic and Paralympic champions.
Camelot retail director Jenny Blogg said: “We’re absolutely delighted to now be working with Aldi.
“Making The National Lottery available in its stores has been a priority for us as we continue to make playing The National Lottery as convenient and easy as possible for people, wherever and however they shop.”
