Aldi releases full list of product shortages due to Suez Canal blockage

// Aldi publishes exactly which products have been delayed amid the Suez Canal blockage
// Items include travel cots and biking gear
// The retailer issued an apology for the delays on social media last week

Aldi has confirmed details of all the Special buy products which have been delayed due to the Suez Canal blockage.

The German budget retailer published details of the items being delayed from reaching the branches of its budget supermarkets.

Aldi has confirmed that the blockage of the Suez Canal for almost a week earlier this month had contributed to the delays, according to The Grocer.

On March 29, salvage teams freed the Ever Given after a six-day shutdown, ending a crisis that had clogged one of the world’s most vital waterways and halted billions of dollars a day.

In a post shared to its Facebook page last week, Aldi said: “We’re sorry, the Specialbuys you’re looking for may have been delayed due to current events.”

These are the delayed items:

  • Multi purpose floor mat – – expected mid May, after being advertised 15 April
  • Bicycle lock – expected mid May, after being advertised 15 April
  • Cycling shorts with seat – expected mid May, after being advertised 15 April
  • Bike frame bag – expected mid May, after being advertised 15 April
