Sainsbury’s has launched a new dedicated lunch stand in over 300 of its UK stores as it looks to make shopping for lunch easier for customers as they balance working at home and being in the office.

The supermarket chain said the in-aisle concept is the first of its kind and will offer a selection of 24 time saving lunch meals priced from £2.00.

Own brand favourites will be available in new packaging and the range includes hot food options such as the Thai Red Curry and Mexican Burrito Bowl that cane be cooked at home or in the office in as little as three minutes.

Other products include flatbreads with a range of fillings and salad combinations such as Roast Vegetable Couscous and Lamb Koftas, or Corn Fritter and Bean Salad.

Sainsbury’s will also be offering dishes from high street chains Itsu, LEON and Wasabi.

Sainsbury’s Food for Later category planner Frances Hughes said: “As a hybrid style of working becomes more normal, we’ve been working hard to analyse customer needs when it comes to their lunchtime meals.

“It’s important for us to provide our customers with convenient and healthy lunch options whether they’re in the office or at home, and alongside our partners Wasabi, Itsu and Leon, we’ve developed delicious choices that enable them to do so.”

“Whether it’s stocking up on the weekly shop or heading to a Sainsbury’s Local during a lunch break, the introduction of the in-aisle lunch stand makes it easily accessible for anyone to pick up an affordable and balanced meal, no matter what your daily ritual is.”

The range includes the following new products which are all available until November 17.
