Alibaba fires employee who accused manager of rape

Alibaba has fired an employee who claims she was the victim of sexual assault by her manager and a client during a business trip earlier this year.

The official dismissal letter from the Chinese e-commerce firm said the woman had been “spreading false information” and causing “incalculable harm” to the company’s reputation.

It also said this “caused strong social concern and had a bad impact on the company” and accused her of not communicating in good faith.
