Monsoon Accessorize has hired Emma Alexander as the new managing director for its Accessorize brand.

Alexander has previously worked as fashion director of the Very Group for nearly four years where she led Littlewoods, Very and Very Exclusive.

She will join Accessorize in March, as part of the fashion accessories retailer’s recent hiring spree, according to Drapers. She replaces former Accessorize managing director, Kathleen Mitchell, who left the company last year to join John Lewis as trading director.

Alexander exited Very Group this month amid a reshuffle of its category management team.

She joined the group, which operates Very.co.uk and Littlewoods.com, in 2018 from Jack Wills, where she was chief product officer with responsibility for all categories globally, covering buying, design and sourcing.

She was also the chief product officer at Jack Wills and worked as brand director at USC.

Her career has also included stints as head of buying at both Marks & Spencer and Jaeger.
