Mountain Warehouse has launched its own online marketplace acting as a one-stop-shop for all outdoor clothing and equipment as it looks to give customers access to a wider choice of brands.

The platform will include a kidswear extension, specialist outdoors categories such as cycling, and a broader range of outdoor living and garden products, including an extended pets offering.

The marketplace will also house “some of the best brands in the market,” including Nike, Slazenger, Donda Cycling, Dotty Dungarees and Canterbury, explained the retailer.

Sellers will gain access to the retailer’s 1.7 million active online customers and 600,000 weekly visitors, as well as “be part of the next stage of growth” as the website has reported an 80 percent sales increase over the past two years.

Sellers are expected to handle customer returns, tracking, pricing and second-line customer care, but Mountain Warehouse will offer access to its customer base and support with onboarding, data and customer insights, marketing, first-line customer care and the processing of orders.

The new marketplace launches on May 24 with the retailer adding that it is “actively” recruiting new brands within the outdoors sector that align with its core values.
