Retail Gazette launches first-ever awards for retail’s game changers

// Retail Gazette has launched its first-ever awards, The Game Changers, designed to recognise the trailblazers in retail that are developing new business models, routes to customers and growth opportunities
// The awards are free to enter and all shortlisted firms will receive complimentary tickets to the games-centric awards ceremony

Retail Gazette has launched its inaugural awards, The Game Changers, which recognise the innovators in retailers that are creating new business models, growth opportunities and improving the shopping experience.

The Game Changers celebrates the businesses that are paving the way for the rest in retail – the businesses that are taking risks, blazing a trail, and finding new ways to delight and deliver for customers.

The awards will be judged by a panel of industry experts from some of the UK’s most innovative retailers, including: Ocado Retail chief customer officer Laura Harricks; eBay UK vice president and general manager Murray Lambell; Pets at Home chief operating officer David Robinson; Eve Sleep chief executive Cheryl Calverley; and Dr Martens chief operating officer Geert Peeters.

Retail Gazette is committed to making The Game Changers a different type of awards. They are both free to enter and all shortlisted companies will receive complimentary tickets for their team to attend the awards ceremony.

The eight awards, which include Best Retailer, Fast Growth Retailer, Ecommerce Game Changer, Supply Chain Game Changer, and Sustainability Game Changer, are open for entry until 22 July.

The winners will be unveiled at an industry party at Bloomsbury Lanes in London, which is designed to be an antidote to the stuffy, overly formal business awards that are commonplace across many industries.

Retail Gazette editor Gemma Goldfingle said: “The Game Changers will be a different type of awards.

“There will be no penguin suits or three-course meals in sight. We’re laying on a free-to-attend party for shortlisted firms where you can grab a beer, have some fun, and really get to know the people who are changing the face of retail. We’re game, are you?”
