Ebay to open Swap ‘Em Out sneaker pop-up in London this month

// eBay is opening a pop up sneaker store in London later this month
// Visitors will be able to exchange their pre-loved trainers for pairs up to triple their value

Ebay UK is set to open another pop-up for sneakerheads in London’s Soho later this month.

The Swap ‘Em Out store, opening 25 March, will allow visitors to exchange their pre-loved and unworn pairs for shoes up to triple their value.

A number of lucky attendees will have their trainers swapped for rare and hyped sneakers of high value including Nike x Off White Jordan 1 “Euro”, Nike Jordan 4 Kaws, Salomon XT-6 Adv Dover Street Market Silver.

The pop-up is a ticketed event and the online marketplace is asking for people to apply for a chance to attend.

Ebay UK sneaker category manager Wahaaj Shabbir said: “Swapping has always been intrinsic to us sneakerheads. In these tough times, where the cost-of-living is making it harder to buy your next pair, we wanted to offer a solution which feels right to the community.

“We’re all about getting sneakers back on feet and hope that by encouraging people to swap and sell, we’ll keep sneakers flowing to people who truly love them.

“By opening up The Swap ‘Em Out Store, people will be able to bring in those sneakers that don’t get enough love any more, and we’ll swap them for a pair they’ll wear.”

This month’s pop up follows last year’s successful collaboration with Morley’s which saw the online marketplace takeover one of London’s iconic chicken shops for the weekend to sell rare retro sneakers.
