The Surfdome owner was supposed to reverse into Hawkwing, a listed company, under a deal announced in July 2021.
Former Dixons and Dunelm boss John Browett was lined up to be executive chairman of IFG but is no longer involved with the group.
Hawkwing appointed restructuring firm Kroll as administrators last month.
Potential buyers have been informed the accelerated sale process was triggered by cashflow and inflationary pressures.
