Peacocks is looking to open over 20 stores in former M&Co sites.

According to Drapers, the value fashion retailer is set to move into the former M&Co store in Stornoway, Scotland in the coming months.

It is also in advanced negotiations to open within the M&Co premise in Saffron Walden as it eyes 20 stores from the estate.

M&Co is set to close all remaining stores in its 170 locations this month after AK Retail Holdings, owner of Yours Clothing, bought the brand and intellectual property of the collapsed retailer for an undisclosed sum back in February, but not its store estate.

Its administrator Teneo made a number of redundancies at the fashion retailer‘s head office and distribution centre in Inchinnan, and their buying office in London shortly before Christmas in 2022.
