Tesco unveils price cuts with parents set to see ‘biggest benefits’

Tesco will slash prices on over 50 products, claiming parents are set to see “some of the biggest benefits”.

The supermarket is cutting the price of some Pampers nappies by 16% and slashing costs across a range of branded and own-brand baby products, including Johnson’s Baby Shampoo and Florence and Fred Cotton buds.

While the retail giant is reducing the prices of almost 60 items in its larger stores, a quarter of these will affect the baby aisle.

However, savings will also impact other areas, with reductions coming to six packs of Tesco yoghurt drinks, Tesco Garlic Mayo, and Tesco Kind and Pure Facial Cleansing Wipes.

The news comes after the supermarket announced cuts on 500 product lines in June.

Earlier this month, the grocer revealed its “reduced in price, just as nice” signs had been rolled out to 300 more of its stores.

The signs direct shoppers to the grocer’s reduced price products.

Tesco has lately been leaning on suppliers to pass on cost savings as it strives to cut prices faster than its rivals.
