Morrisons launches eighth round of price cuts this year

Morrisons is slashing prices on more than 170 products throughout stores this week, making it the eight round of price reductions for the supermarket this year.

The grocer has lowered and locked over 1,000 prices each week since January, in a bid to help customers plan their budgets without the worry of price fluctuations.

The supermarket has also launched “More Month” this September to help shoppers stock up, budget and bank extra loyalty card points.

Under the scheme, More Card shoppers will be able to bag more exclusive offers than ever before at the grocer, with an average discount of over 30%.

Extra “More Points” will be available to shoppers across a range of branded items for the first time, as well as on a wider selection of the grocer’s own brand products.

Customers who save 5,000 points will earn a “Morrisons Fiver” which they can redeem on a future shop.

The deals will be available for shoppers both online and in-store.

Morrisons chief customer and marketing officer Rachel Eyre said: “Customers tell us that September is an opportunity to ‘reset’ and try new routines after the expensive summer months.

“We also know that saving for Christmas is already on their minds and so we have launched ‘More Month’ to help”.

It follows the grocery giant’s announcement that it was investing a further £26m into supporting its customers after slashing the price on 47 fresh food essentials and summer favourites.

In May, Morrisons brought back its More Card loyalty scheme, replacing its My Morrisons app following a successful trial.
