Watch: Tesco unveils Christmas 2023 advert

Tesco has unveiled its Christmas advert for 2023, following a sneak peek earlier in the week.

The spot, dubbed “Become More Christmas” shows a family getting ready for the big day, and how a trip to the supermarket can get customers feeling more festive with every shop.

The film opens on a dad and teenage son driving to Tesco and walking around the store for their usual shop.

However, the dad notices a Christmas sampling display, and after tasting some of the product, transforms into a Christmas tree as he starts to get into the festive spirit.

Looking embarrassed, the teenage son walks away and is reluctant to join in the fun.

In another scene, the dad has completely transformed into a decorated Christmas tree, and is seen putting the finishing touches to decorations at home.

Once the mum returns from Tesco with mince pies, she is overcome with festive joy and transforms into a “Snowmum”.

Christmas puddings, snow globes and nutcrackers go on to join the family for a festive party, featuring various Tesco Christmas products.

At the checkout, Christmas tree dad is served by a staff member who has transformed into a reindeer, and when the dad swipes his Clubcard, a star decoration explodes from the top of his head, completing his Christmas transformation.

The teenage son remains reluctant to get into the Christmas spirit, unti hisl dad hands him the Christmas tree topper he made when he was a child and finally transforms into a Christmas tree himself.

According to Tesco, its campaign shows how Christmas preparations can be just as exciting as the big day, with its 2023 Christmas report showing almost a third of UK adults find the build more exciting than December 25th.

The advert airs on 19th December on ITV during “I’m at Celebrity Get Me Out of Here” which starts at 9pm.
