Bath & Body Works opens first standalone London store

Bath & Body Works has opened its first standalone store in London at Westfield shopping centre.

The American retailer’s new 2,357 sq ft store in White City houses its premium range of lifestyle care products and home fragrance, sitting directly opposite beauty giant Sephora.

The retailer is also set to open a second store in the capital at Westfield Stratford in Autumn.

Founded in 1990, Bath & Body Works offers an array of bath and shower gels, lotions, candles, and accessories and is particularly famous for its scented body care items and signature fragrances.

Operating over 1,700 stores in the United States, the brand boasts a net worth of over $10bn.

Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield Leasing Director UK Kate Orwin said:“We’ve experienced a strong year so far in leasing at Westfield London, with increasing demand for upsizing and new store space as brands look to expand in strategic locations.

“This momentum builds upon the success of 2023, during which we welcomed over 80 new store openings across both Westfield centres.

“We anticipate further growth in the beauty, medical and wellness sectors throughout this year, as we continue in our commitment to creating best in class destinations and exceptional customer experiences.”

Last week, Frasers Group said it would be opening two new Sports Direct flagships in London’s Westfield shopping centres as it continues the roll-out of the brand’s elevated stores.

The sports retailer will open a 29,000 sq ft store at Westfield London in White City and a 28,000 sq ft location at Westfield Stratford next year.

Frasers said the new stores will both feature “cutting-edge retail experiences” and compliment Sports Direct’s flagship on Oxford Street.
