Harvey Nichols is set to close its Beauty Bazaar store in Liverpool ONE as part of new CEO Julia Goddard’s growth strategy for the department store.

A spokesperson for the retailer said it had chosen to focus on “full category stores” and as such the beauty only store that opened in 2012 will close next month.

The closure comes as other retailers including Harrods, Boots and Sephora have invested millions into beauty only stores.

Harvey Nichols told Fashion Network: “We have reviewed our store portfolio and mutually agreed with the landlord of our Beauty Bazaar location in Liverpool to surrender the lease as we focus on investment into full-category stores.

“Unfortunately, this means that our employees in the Liverpool store may be at risk of redundancy.

“We have entered into a consultation process and are doing everything we can to support those affected by the surrender.”
