Health and beauty retailer Superdrug has unveiled the return of its fundraising campaign to raise money for Switchboard’s LGBTQIA+ support line.

This is the second time the retailer has paired up with the charity through digital micro-donation charity Pennies.

Consumer’s will be able to donate 20p at cash points from 20 May until 14 July. Consumer’s will also be able to show their support for the charity by buying selected products from brands such as Lynx, Britney Spears Fragrances, Garnier, Kylie Minogue Fragrances, Acnecide and Marc Jacobs.

Megan Potter, trading director at Superdrug said: “We’re incredibly proud to continue our support for Switchboard and to partner with Pennies for a second year, giving our customers a simple way to support the LGBTQIA+ community every time they shop with us.”

As part of the campaign, Superdrug has also collaborated with drag queen Tia Kofi and television personality Ella Morgan. The pair will star in the retailers Summer of Fun marketing drive.

Corporate partnerships manager Bob Hughes at Switchboard said:  “Switchboard is proud to be partnering with Superdrug and Pennies for a second year in a row, giving millions of customers a simple way to support LGBTQIA+ people with a small donation at the checkout.”

“The partnership shines a light on the importance of having a trusted and safe place for the UK’s LGBTQIA+ community to turn to; helping Switchboard be there for more LGBTQIA+ people when they need someone to listen. All funds raised will be used to ensure that no contact – call, message, or email to Switchboard – goes unanswered.”
