Lakeside shopping centre has unveiled Brompton Arcade, formerly Brompton Walk, and its strategic repositioning as “a vibrant hub for independent businesses, local entrepreneurs and experience-led operations”.
Located on level 2 of the shopping centre, Brompton Arcade’s vision is to “curate and support ambitious, independent and experience-led brands,” providing them with “greater visibility, operational support” and access to Lakeside’s annual footfall of 17 million visitors.
Placemaking enhancements to the space include the introduction of new seating, extensive planting and a programme of creative activations, such as changing community art installations.
Brompton Arcade forms part of a wider transformation programme at Lakeside to “expand the breadth of its offer in line with its super-regional status,” the company said.
The destination has welcomed significant tenant investment, including £100 million over the last three years.
To introduce prospective occupiers to Brompton Arcade, Lakeside will host an open day on 30 June.
The open day will be aimed at “ambitious operators of independent, experience-led brands and workspace concepts” who are seeking to connect with leasing teams and “explore how their business could benefit from being part of the Arcade’s next chapter and Lakeside’s long-term vision for growth”.
Brompton Arcade’s new identity marks the latest move in Lakeside’s evolution and signifies the destination’s “active step change” under SGS’s leadership, according to the business.
Pradera managing director of asset management Robert Jewell said: “Brompton Arcade represents an exciting new chapter for Lakeside, reflecting our ambition to create a destination that champions independent businesses and entrepreneurial talent.
“Through significant investment, we’re creating a renewed identity for the Arcade, one that combines unparallelled visibility with a strong sense of community and collaboration.
“Our open day presents a unique opportunity for ambitious operators looking to grow their business and become part of Lakeside’s long-term vision.”
