adidas Originals and American fashion designer Willy Chavarria have unveiled a new collection, inspired by the “gritty energy” of the 1990s.
The collection draws on Chavarria’s exploration of proportion, cultural heritage and identity. It also takes inspiration from vintage sportswear silhouettes.
The line plays with layered styling and exaggerated proportions and sees the pair reimagine “familiar silhouettes”.
Chavarria’s signature design features can seen throughout the range such as rose iconography and red, white and green accents inspired by the colours of the Mexican flag.
It includes the Chavarria track jacket and track pant, Chavarria Dazzle Short and Dazzle LS jersey. Footwear offerings include the Mega Willy low in Black and Agave and the Willy Mega mid in Black.
adidas said: “Together, the October collection captures the design essence and visual language that is central to the adidas x Chavarria partnership; where sport and fashion meet heritage and modern street.”
The collection is available globally from 3 October online, at selected retailers and on the CONFIRMED app.
