Argos is expanding its Trusted Sellers marketplace with plans to offer more than 130,000 products from vetted third-party retailers and brands by the end of 2026.

The platform, which was trialled with 40 partners in July, already offers more than 70,000 products. The British general merchandise retailer said the expansion represents the biggest increase in its product range in its history.

Initially focused on furniture, home and toys, Trusted Sellers is now expanding into health and beauty, gifting and electricals. Beauty brands already available include Clarins, Dermalogica and Medicube.

Products are delivered directly by Trusted Sellers, although customers can still earn Nectar Points on marketplace purchases.

“Argos has always been famous for offering customers amazing brands and own brands,” said Argos managing director Graham Biggart.

“The launch of Trusted Sellers enables us to complement those ranges with thousands of new lines from brands and independent businesses that mean our customers get an even wider range.

“The feedback on and from our Trusted Sellers has been incredibly positive and we’re looking forward to the biggest expansion of our range in our history.

“And, critically, because we review every partner, customers can trust that every product meets the standards they expect from Argos.”

The expansion forms part of a wider transformation programme at Argos, including investment in its digital experience, rapid delivery, Argos Pay and other customer propositions.

Graham added: “Our ambition is simple – to make Argos the place customers can come to complete more of their shopping mission in one visit. Trusted Sellers allows us to significantly expand the range available to customers whilst maintaining the trust, convenience and shopping experience they expect from Argos.”

The marketplace expansion follows in the wake of Sainsbury’s agreeing to sell Argos to Swift Partners for £120m in July, ending a decade of ownership since it bought the brand for £1.4bn in 2016.
