London Fashion Week scales back parties and events to pay respects to Queen

London Fashion Week has released an updated schedule following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, with parties and events being postponed or scaled back to focus on business.

The fashion week is due to take place from 15 to 20 September, falling on the period of National Mourning and the Royal Funeral, which is set to take place on 19 September.

There will be a celebration of London Fashion Week in October which will include City Wide Celebration as well as parties and events that have been rescheduled with designer shows and presentations celebrated during this period.

The event will pay its respects by taking the following actions during the week:

• All union flags will fly at half-mast
• There will be a one-minute silence at 8pm Sunday 18 September at the Christopher Kane Show
• Guests are invited to share their tributes on the British Fashion Council website
• The NEWGEN Venue at Selfridges Hotel will have space for the industry to write tributes
• Post event both the online tributes and those written at our venue will be placed in a condolence book for the Royal Family
• No shows or events will take place on Monday 19 September

As a business-to-business event, London Fashion Week said it will continue while observing Royal Protocol and the event will be dedicated to Her Majesty.
