Designer fashion brand Tom Ford is to open its first flagship store in the UK, it has been announced today.

A US fashion designer, Tom Ford, who rose to fame in the 1990‘s during his tenure at Gucci, last year expanded his famous brand with the introduction of a womenswear line and is set to open the British store at The Cadogan Estate.

Joining luxury brands Chanel, Gucci and Louis Vuitton, the 8,000 sq ft store is scheduled to open in 2013 based on a 10-year lease at £1.34 million per annum.

Currently, the designer‘s range is only available at department store Selfridges though the new store provides an exclusive for The Cadogan Estate‘s new 201-206 Sloane Street development.

Hugh Seaborn, CEO of The Cadogan Estate, commented: “We are delighted to have secured such a big name fashion brand as the anchor to 201-206 Sloane Street.

“With Tom Ford‘s arrival – and Alberta Ferretti also opening a flagship store, it enhances the ‘super luxury‘ offering of the development and seals its reputation as a world-class fashion destination.”

Advised by CBRE and Nash Bond, The Cadogan Estate comprises 93 acres of Chelsea from Sloane Street to Knighstbridge, highlighting the resilience of the luxury market despite economic gloom.

Ed Humbert, Senior Director, Central London Retail at CBRE, explained: “The luxury retail sector is performing incredibly well against a challenging economic climate and we are seeing strong demand for prime retail space.

“Sloane Street is very much in demand and is already home to numerous international leading fashion brands; however, the arrival of Tom Ford‘s first London store is major news for The Cadogan Estate – it can only enhance Sloane Street‘s luxury offering further.”
