Mark Price has been appointed Deputy Chairman of Channel 4 as he takes on his second promotion in a week.

Price, who joined the Channel 4 board in October 2010, is Managing Director of Waitrose and Deputy Chairman of the John Lewis Partnership having been at the partnership for 31 years.

“I am pleased to welcome Mark to the role of deputy chair of the Channel 4 board. He has been an excellent member of the board for the past three years and is well equipped for this important role,” said Channel 4 chairman Lord Burns.

Price became Deputy Chairman of John Lewis Partnership on Friday , succeeding former investment banker David Barclay.
