Hammerson appoints new head of multichannel

Property firm Hammerson has appointed Sophie Ross to the newly created role of head of multichannel to drives its digital and physical multichannel strategy.

Ross, who will report into group marketing director Stephen Brown, will be responsible for creating and executing a strategy to understand customer preferences and habits to improve customer experience.

Before joining Hammerson, she was e-commerce and business development manager (BDM) at Homebase between 2006- 2011 and was previously a BDM at Home Retail Group for two years. Amongst her key achievements were managing Homebase‘s multichannel strategy and leading the relaunch of its website, seeing sales growth of over 25 per cent in three years.

Sophie Ross commented: “Consumers have more choice than ever before when it comes to when and how they shop. By increasing the contact point with consumers during the purchasing journey, we can understand more about their shopping habits which will ultimately benefit our retailers,”

Stephen Brown added: “Sophie‘s impressive achievements in multichannel make her the ideal person to progress Hammerson‘s digital strategy and ensure that we continue to develop innovative solutions to consumers‘ increasingly demanding requirements.”
