Yoox Net-A-Porter has announced the appointment of two new independent directors to its board.

The luxury fashion pureplay is the result of a merger between Net-a-Porter and Yoox in October. With the arrival of the new appointees, the board will have 11 directors, 7 of whom are independent.

These new directors bring a wealth of experience to their new roles. Eva Chen, currently the Global Head of Fashion Partnerships at Instagram, has been described by the e-tailer as a “social media pioneer who has harnessed the power of Instagram and created a personal brand that resonates across all corners of the fashion industry.”

Vittorio Radice, meanwhile, is the man behind the repositioning of Italian department store La Rinascente, and currently serves there as Vice Chairman in charge of International Development. He is also credited with the revival of British luxury department store, Selfridges.

“I am delighted to welcome Eva and Vittorio”, said CEO of Yoox Net-A-Porter Group, Federico Marchetti.

“Eva‘s appointment brings our customers right onto the board. She is one of the industry‘s most connected and innovative voices and brings a fresh, youthful perspective together with exceptional expertise at the convergence of social commerce and fashion. She also represents one of our most important markets – the US – and will bring that sensibility to the heart of the business. Vittorio is a retail connoisseur and a champion of exceptional service. His extensive professional experience of traditional luxury retail in both London and Milan perfectly unites the heritages of the combined group and will provide vital insights as we enter an exciting new phase of growth.”
