Missguided will open a second physical retail store in Kent‘s Bluewater shopping centre, following the success of its London flagship.

The once online-only Missguided has signed a deal to open another new store, with another two in the pipeline in the near future.

A specific opening date has not yet been confirmed.

In the year to March 2016 Missguided posted a record 34 per cent rise in sales to £117 million, sparking the ambitious expansions.

Land Securities portfolio director Russell Loveland commented: “Signing Missguided for the store that marks the brand‘s move out of London is a major milestone for Bluewater, and a great way to begin 2017.”

Nitin Passi, Founder of Missguided, added: “Bluewater is a great brand match for Missguided and we already have a strong following across the catchment via our e-commerce site.

“Combined with the work Land Securities has done to create the ideal store, we have the perfect opportunity from which to grow our brand and are looking forward to a very successful future at Bluewater.”

In the last 18 months the company has made significant investments in its first ever retail store in London Westfield shopping centre, as well as adding activewear, nightwear, denim, lingerie and bridal collections among others.

Despite these investments eating into to the bottom line profits with the EBITDA falling 52 per cent in 2016, the company insists the investment has paid off boosting sales significantly.
