N Brown Group has reported stellar sales over the Christmas period with its key brands posting double digit growth.

The Jacamo, JD Williams and Simply Be owner saw an overall sales increase of 4.1 per cent, while retail sales rose 5.9 per cent in the 18 weeks to December 31.

All three revealed a 10 per cent rise in year-on-year sales, fostered by a record-breaking Black Friday/Cyber Monday fortnight.

Online sales were attributed to the promising growth, now accounting for over 70 per cent of N Brown‘s income.

Online revenues also grew a further 12 per cent in the period.

“I am pleased to report a good trading period, with standout performances from ladieswear and the Simply Be brand,” N Brown chief executive Angela Spindler said.

“All key brands and categories grew in the period, including our traditional titles which had diluted performance in the first half.

“We are benefitting from improved trading agility as a result of the transformational changes we have made.

“In light of our trading performance, as we approach the year-end, we are comfortable with current market expectations.”

However, Spindler remained cautious of the coming year and said N Brown is “not immune” to the troubles looming in the fashion sector.
