Ikea has become the unlikely focal point of a new fashion craze, which came to a head earlier this month at Florence‘s Pitti Uomo fashion fair when photo of a daring male clad in homemade Ikea garments went viral.

It all started when fashion brand Balenciaga revealed their $2145 Arena tote bag, which the internet was quick to point out looked incredibly similar to the Swedish furniture giant‘s iconic bag.
After some cheeky social media posts from Ikea, fashionistas around the globe have been taking it upon themselves to create garments out of the big blue bags adorned with the iconic blue and yellow straps.

This DIY Ikea fashion revolution has led to the brand announcing genuine collaborations with brands Off-White and Byredo set for release in 2019.
