Habitat launches click-and-collect operation

Furniture retailer Habitat has rolled out a new click-and-collect service across the UK at over 2300 locations.

Small homeware items like lamps, flat-pack furniture, tableware and textiles will now be available to collect from both Habitat stores, and thousands of DPD pick-up points across the country.

The news comes as its new owner, Sainsbury‘s, ramps up its click-and-collect operation, having launched a 30-minute click and collect service last month and alongside hundreds more click-and-collect points for Argos and Sainsbury‘s orders.

“The way our customers want to shop with us is changing and we‘ve worked hard at evolving our digital offer at pace to meet this demand,” managing director Clare Askem said.

“Over 60 per cent of our sales are now generated online, so giving customers the choice of fast delivery to a collection point close to where they live or work at a time that‘s convenient makes sound business sense.

“Our customers increasingly want speed, flexibility and choice and our aim is to develop the Habitat brand into a multi-channel business for the digital age, more accessible to an increasingly online customer base and to provide a flexible delivery proposition that works around modern life.”
