Dixons Carphone veteran retail director Nick Smith quits

Dixon Carphone’s veteran retail director Nick Smith is to leave the company to join furniture retailer DFS, according to Retail Week.

He leaves the role following a 30-year career at Dixons, serving as retail director for the last two.

His departure has sparked a senior reshuffle at the retail group which will see Smith replaced by the current Carphone retail director Mike Carslake, while Carslake will be succeeded by former divisional director Kevin Snowball.

“We wish both Nick and Paul every success in their new roles,” a spokesperson said.

The news follows another two recent senior departures from Dixons Carphone, central operations director Paul Justice and group HR director Sally Hyndman both recently left the retailer for Debenhams.
