Tofs appoints new finance and operating chiefs

The Original Factory Shop, popularly known as Tofs, has announced two major senior hires, with Steve Cooke appointed chief financial officer and Carl Allen appointed chief operating officer.

Cooke previously held roles at Sainsbury’s & Homebase, as well as being finance director B&Q, before he became chief financial officer and then chief executive at Hornby.

Meanwhile, Allen spent four years as B&M operations director, and he brings a wealth of retail experience having started his career with Sainsbury’s and Iceland.

Both Cooke and Allen moved into their new roles at the discount retailer at the start of this week.

The news comes nine months after Emma Fox was appointed chief executive of Tofs following Tony Page’s departure from the top job in March last year.

“We are delighted to welcome Steve and Carl to the business,” Fox said.

“Both bring impressive backgrounds in retail, which will further add to the team’s commercial experience as we continue our growth across the UK. We very much look forward to working with them.”
