// The initiative follows former creative director Raf Simons’ abrupt exit last year

Calvin Klein has appointed Marcella Wartenbergh as its new chief merchandising officer.

The news follows parent company PVH’s new strategy to attract broader commercial appeal.

Wartenbergh served as group president, global licensing & strategic initiatives, since 2018.

She has also worked as Calvin Klein Europe president and brand manager.

The fashion label and retailer is also on track to re-align the company after the exit of its first-ever creative director Raf Simons in December last year.

As a result of Simons’ abrupt exit, Calvin Klein did not feature in the February 2019 instalment of New York Fashion Week.
