Allbirds is poised to take a stand against Black Friday by emptying its London flagship to raise awareness around “conscious consumerism”.

The sustainable footwear brand and retailer said it remove all shoes and socks from the shelves of its Seven Dials store – its only store in the UK – and will instead host creative workshops.

Allbirds said that in doing so, it hopes to make a point against discount-driven impulse buying and single-use purchases.

The workshops will be done in collaboration with local partners and creatives and will aim to shed light on “conscious consumerism” and Allbirds’ all-natural promise.

All events taking place throughout the day are free and no booking is required to attend.

Allbirds uses sustainable materials such as Merino wool, eucalyptus and sugarcane to make its footwear collections.

In April, the San Francisco-based brand introduced a self-imposed carbon tax to help it achieve 100 per cent carbon neutrality.
