The former chief executive of online at Missguided, Gareth Jones, has reportedly joined White Stuff as a non-executive director.

According to Drapers, White Stuff chair Debbie Hewitt said Jones’ “strong digital and online experience” would benefit the retailer.

Jones said there was a “significant opportunity” to develop the multichannel offering of White Stuff.

He was at the helm of Missguided between 2017 and 2018. He was most recently the chief executive of MuscleFood.

Before Missguided, Jones worked at Shop Direct, now The Very Group, where he joined in 2009 as group retail director and was tasked with implementing its strategy in 2013.

He was then promoted to deputy chief executive in October 2014.

Jones was also a non-executive director at Moss Bros until March 2020.

Earlier this month, White Stuff made 390 of its staff across its head office and shop floor teams redundant.

The job cuts came as part of a wider restructuring and transformation scheme, which has now been completed.

The redundancies affected 100 head office staff and 290 employees from its UK store estate.

The retailer said in May that the Covid-19 crisis had impacted trading conditions on the high street and would continue to do so even when lockdown ends.
