Zalando’s northern Europe boss steps down

The man who directed Zalando’s operations in the UK has reportedly resigned after four years with the online fashion retailer.

Zalando’s director for Northern Europe, Kenneth Melchoir, has exited the business after two years in the role.

Melchior first joined the German retailer in 2016 as Nordic director before he was promoted to Nordics and UK director in January 2018.

He was appointed to Northern Europe director in April 2018, in which he was responsible for Zalando’s operations in Benelux, the Nordics and the UK.

“After an amazing ride for the last years it is time to embark on a new adventure,” Melchoir wrote on LinkedIn.

“Looking back, I am still astonished with all of the things we achieved together, especially in the Nordics and Benelux.

“From the early days trying to get the right brands on-board, improve the convenience etc., to the incredible market leader position we are in now. All credit to the best team you can imagine.”

Zalando has also confirmed that Melchoir left his position as director of Northern Europe.
