Nisa has announced it will recruit hundreds more of its retailers to a campaign in an effort to reduce food waste.

Around 100 Nisa stores are working with the app Too Good to Go, which lists food that is at or about to reach its sell-by date and offers it to customers at a reduced price.

Currently Nisa and the app are saving 46,000 bags of food from being thrown out since the retailer signed up.

A video has been created to promote the partnership with Nisa – Fighting Food Waste with Too Good To Go – along with a flyer that is being shared with retailers by the group’s retail development managers to raise awareness and get them involved.

Nisa Local Caledonian Road store manager, Sunna Hussain said: “Too Good to Go is the perfect solution for reducing food waste. It has enabled us to get our food in front of a whole new audience.

“I would definitely recommend Too Good to Go to other convenience stores that are trying to reduce their food waste.”
