// Boots said it has stopped the production of seven Soltan suncreams

Boots is phasing out suncream in stores that have SPF lower than 50 for children and 15 for adults.

The health and beauty retailer will no longer make its Soltan suncream with a sun protection level lower than SPF 50 for children and SPF 15 for adults to encourage sun safe behaviour.

Boots said it has stopped the production of seven creams including Soltan SPF 30 for children and an SPF 8 lotion for adults.

“We want to support our customers to make a simple switch to protect their skin with higher SPF,” Boots suncare expert, Clare O’Connor said.

“This is particularly important for children, whose skin is more vulnerable to sun damage, so we want to help parents in choosing the highest protection available.”

The initiative comes after Boots partners with Macmillan Cancer Support.
