Poundland is offering cash-strapped customers the choice to buy a full Christmas dinner at the discount retailer.

Following the rollout of chilled and frozen food to around 500 stores, this will mark the first time Poundland shoppers can buy Christmas dinner from the retailer.

The main turkey course comes in at £5.00 per head for a family of five, while a full four-course meal is priced at £6.85.

“This is no cracker joke – for the first time we’re making sure millions of our shoppers can buy their Christmas dinner at Poundland,” Poundland commercial director, Tim Bettley said.

“Hundreds of our stores now have chilled and frozen food with stores now also offering fresh fruit and vegetables. And in more and more places across the UK, we’re offering an alternative to the big supermarkets, whether it’s for everyday meals or the special ones like Christmas Day.”

Poundland is looking to have chilled and frozen ranges in its 800-plus stores by the end of 2023.

The retailer will open eight new stores, relocations and extensions on 10 December for a “Super Saturday” of openings.

All ten stores will offer chilled and frozen food, with the most extensive range available in its new super-size stores at Denton, Greater Manchester and Peterborough in Cambridgeshire.
