Harrods has been painted with dots to celebrate Louis Vuitton and artist Yayoi Kusama’s newest collaboration.

The luxury department store‘s Knightsbridge façade and exhibition windows have been covered with the dots, as well as an immersive infinity room pop-up within the store.

In a statement Harrods said continuing a long legacy of patronship for the arts, “Louis Vuitton writes the second chapter in its partnership with revolutionary Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama – 10 years after they first joined forces.”

Harrods is the stage for the luxury fashion house’s most extensive collaboration with a fine artist to date as the retailer’s womenswear, menswear, accessories and even fragrance section can be seen covered with Kusama’siconic painted dots.

Last year, Harrods boss Michael Ward warned that London is trailing behind Paris and Milan in luxury trade.

The managing director, who has led Harrods since 2005, said the decision to stop tourists reclaiming VAT has deterred them from shopping in the city. The UK scrapped this measure after exiting the EU at the end of 2020.
