Home Bargains has acquired discount retailer Quality Save as it expands its business.

The Liverpool-headquartered company has bought the retailer for an undisclosed sum, while Richard Rudkin, Diane Rudkin and Paul Rudkin have all stepped down as directors, The Grocer reported.

Home Bargains said: “We are pleased to confirm that TJ Morris acquired Quality Save with effect from 26 January 2023.

Quality Save, which was founded in 1974, has 21 stores in the north of England.

It has now become a wholly owned subsidiary of TJ Morris, which trades as Home Bargains.

Home Bargains said it will be bringing Quality Save stores into Home Bargains, increasing its store numbers and simplifying how the business works.

Home Bargains operations director Paul Roland has joined the Quality Save board following the deal.

TJ Morris was established in 1976 and now has more than 500 stores and employs 27,000 people.
