Asos responsible sourcing director Simon Platts is to step down after almost 10 years in his role.

Platts, who was previously head of buying at Blacks Outdoor Group, told Drapers: “After nearly a decade, it felt like the right time for me to step down from my role at Asos.

“I’m proud of what we’ve achieved in driving our ‘fashion with integrity’ agenda forward and in working across the sector to achieve meaningful change on sustainability.

“I’m looking forward to exploring new ways of contributing to making further industry progress.”

In a note seen by the publication, Asos chief executive José Antonio Ramos said Platts had been “integral” to driving sustainability forward at the group and had shown “great dedication to the business and his area of expertise”.

Last week, the online giant hired former Matchesfashion chief financial officer Sean Glithero as its interim chief financial officer, as it continues its search for a permanent finance boss.
