Ocado Solutions CEO Luke Jensen to retire

Ocado Solutions boss Luke Jensen is to retire from his role and as executive director on 30 September to focus on external non-executive director positions.

Jensen has served as chief executive since 2017 and has played a key role in the business’ global growth – from signing its first international partnership with Bon Preu during his first year to its most recent agreement with Lotte in Korea.

He will be succeeded by Ocado non-executive director John Martin from 1 September, allowing for a handover period before Jensen’s retirement.

On his appointment, Martin will cease to be a member of the board and will step down as chair of the audit committee and as a member of the people committee.

Former Ted Baker chief executive Rachel Osborne who is set to join Ocado as an independent non-executive director on 1 September will also assume Martin’s role of audit chair.

Ocado group chief executive Tim Steiner said: “Over the last six years, Luke has played a key role in our transformation into a global technology solutions business.

“He leaves our Solutions business in a strong position to drive future growth, having recently established a global regional structure, with the appointments of regional presidents and the creation of a global Partner Success organisation.

“We wish him well and thank him for his contribution to Ocado. Luke will be supporting the transition over the coming months.”
