River Island has hired Boohoo Group’s MD for Karen Millen, Oasis, Coast and Warehouse Jane Eskriett and Next Europe and North Africa sourcing boss Richard Grainger as new co-managing directors.
The pair join following CEO Will Kernan’s departure earlier this year. It was announced this week that Kernan will join John Lewis’ board.

Meanwhile, River Island has hired Howdens group HR director Kirsty Homer as chief people officer, Retail Week reports.
The fashion retailer’s executive chair Richard Bradbury said: “We are thrilled to welcome Jane, Richard and Kirsty to River Island. Their strong skills and experience will be an asset to the board, our customers and our people.”
The trio head up a relatively new senior team at the fashion retailer. Retail director Steve Morris resigned from his role in July, having spent over three years in the position whilst it was revealed in March that chief product officer Phil Cooke stepped down from his role with immediate effect.
