N Brown names Ted Baker exec as new supply chain director

N Brown has hired former Ted Baker exec Clare Empson as its new director of supply chain.

Empson, who will overtake the group’s current supply chain director Phil Barnes, previously served as Ted Baker‘s director of operations and holds over 25 years experience across the retail sector.

Empson will be responsible for operations, distribution, workplace, engineering and facilities, health and safety, solutions and logistics transformation.

The appointment comes as N Brown continues its group-wide transformation to create a customer-first experience with technology at its core.

Due to start her role on 15 January, she will will report directly to N Brown’s group CEO, Steve Johnson.

Empson said: “I’m excited to be joining such an inclusive business with a portfolio of well-loved brands.

“As the Director of Supply Chain, I’m looking forward to playing a part in ensuring that N Brown’s customers receive an outstanding end-to-end shopping experience.”

Back in April N Brown appointed former Hobbs chief executive Meg Lustman as a non-executive director to further fuel its transformation plan.

Lustman took over chairing the group’s remuneration committee when Gill Barr stepped down from the board after the group’s AGM in July.
